Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 17, 2026
Nerds 2 You (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides on-site computer repair and IT support in Edmonton, Alberta and surrounding areas. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit nerds2you.ca, contact us, request service, or use our services.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, service address, appointment preferences, device details, descriptions of technical problems, communications with us, and information needed to provide and document a repair or support service. If you make a payment, transaction details may be processed by our payment or service-management providers.
Our website and service providers may also collect technical information such as IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, referring websites, and interactions with our website through cookies and similar technologies.
2. How we use information
We use personal information to respond to inquiries; schedule and provide services; manage service requests, customer communications, billing and records; troubleshoot technical issues; operate and secure our website; understand website performance; and, where permitted and with any required consent, measure or improve advertising. We may also use or disclose information where required or permitted by law.
3. Computer and device service
During repairs, data recovery, setup, or technical support, our technicians may encounter files, account information, or other personal information stored on a customer’s device or network. We aim to access only what is reasonably necessary to perform the requested work and to handle information encountered during service with care. Customers should back up important data before service whenever possible and should tell us about any especially sensitive information or access restrictions.
4. Service requests and third-party providers
We use RepairShopr for service requests and related customer-service workflows. Information submitted through its forms may be processed through RepairShopr rather than solely on our website. We also use service providers for website hosting and delivery, security, backups, analytics, and communications, including Cloudflare and WordPress-related services. These providers may process information on our behalf under their own applicable terms and privacy practices.
We do not sell customer service records or contact details. We may share information with providers as needed to operate our business, provide requested services, protect our systems, or comply with legal obligations. Some providers may process or store information outside Alberta or Canada, where different laws may apply.
5. Cookies, analytics, and advertising
Our website and services may use cookies, pixels, scripts, and similar technologies for website functionality, security, analytics, and advertising measurement. These may include Microsoft Clarity and Meta Pixel. Depending on configuration, these technologies may collect information about visits and interactions with our website and may associate it with information held by their providers.
You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings and use applicable privacy or advertising controls offered by those providers. Blocking certain technologies may affect some website features. Where consent is legally required for optional tracking, we are responsible for obtaining it; this policy alone does not replace a required consent mechanism.
6. Consent and choices
We collect, use, and disclose personal information with consent where required, or as otherwise permitted by applicable law. You may withdraw consent for certain uses by contacting us, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawing consent may affect our ability to provide a requested service.
7. Security and retention
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational steps to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No website, network, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including service delivery, business records, legal obligations, and dispute resolution, then delete or securely dispose of it as appropriate.
8. Access, correction, and privacy questions
You may request access to personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct inaccurate information, subject to applicable legal exceptions. Please make your request in writing to [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before responding. You may also raise concerns with Alberta’s Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner.
9. External websites
Our website may link to websites or services operated by others. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, which we encourage you to review.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices, service providers, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted here with a revised date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or seek consent for material changes.
