fix laptop hinge

The lid pops instead of opening smoothly. You hear a crack near one corner, the screen shifts sideways, and the bezel starts separating from the base. For how to fix a laptop hinge, resist the urge to force it closed or tighten every visible screw. The hinge is often only part of the failure. More commonly, its resistance pulls brass inserts out of plastic posts, tears the lid or palmrest, and turns a small mechanical problem into a chassis repair.
